My name is Brad Hoover. I'm 23 years old and I have a bachelors in computer engineering. I live in Poughkeepsie, NY, a small city in the Hudson Valley region, midway between New York City and Albany.
I have experience working with both hardware and software. You can check out my senior design project, which involved the design and fabrication of custom printed circuit boards (PCB), low/high level programming, and the use of RFID to track items stored on a custom built shelf. You can download my entire report, view the picture gallery, and there's even a video to demonstrate. My partner and I spent many late nights working on it, and we're proud to have built a working prototype.
My other passion is web development. I have pursued this as an active hobby for much of the past 10 years. I taught myself HTML and CSS by reading books, tutorials, and tinkering with code. I later took Java classes in school and used that knowledge to teach myself PHP, which also led me to work with databases and MySQL. Although I'm more of a programmer, I'm also familiar with Photoshop editing and slicing layouts to be exported for code.
In my spare time I enjoy doing stuff both indoors and out. My PC and Xbox 360 get avid use. I also like to fish, play paintball and watch baseball, to name a few other activities.
